Annie Davies - Music
I have been a professional musician for over thirty years both in New Zealand and playing around Europe. I sing and play saxophones and clarinet.
I have not only worked extensively with my own bands, but also run two Jazz Clubs and recorded for the media - NZTV, Radio Stations and Recording Studios.
MY FAVOURITE MUSIC
I love swing and Latin American Music and enjoy playing the "standards" made famous by such people as Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. I have a sentimental heart and appreciate music which conveys an emotion with a well structured melody line. It is for this reason that I often find I am asked to create an "Ambience" for a Special Occasion where mood is often of the essence.

MY LINE - UP
Using backing music made especially for me by my fellow musicians - Warren Sang in New Zealand and David Etheridge in England. The sound is full and professional but less space is required for the effect! The music I have available for this is mainly suited to restaurants, cocktail lounges and wedding receptions where the music is required to be provide ambiance.
AS A DUO, TRIO OR QUARTET
I also call upon fellow musicians to join me to provide the perfect solution to complement your special occasion.
HARLEQUIN SUPERVISED THE DON AND ANNIE SHOW
On Saturday 31st May 2014, 105 hungry diners met at the Memorial Hall which was decorated with bright and cheerful colours, the stage professionally lit and the sound system worked perfectly. Annie sang her heart out treating the audience to a range of very favourite songs from the great American and English composers. She engaged our ears not only with a voice reminiscent of some of the great lady singers loved by the older generation but by playing sax and clarinet with a gentle freedom that emanates from an accomplished performer of smooth jazz. The evening concluded with a one hour blast of comedy, timed to perfection. Don Maclean had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand as he regaled hilarious tales old and new concluding with an operatic satire which surprised and delighted everyone.
Peter Craythorne was the Ultimate MC keeping the evening gently flowing along.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss any entertainment needs that you may have. I will always endeavor to give you an honest answer as to whether my/our music will meet your requirements, as it is important for both of us to understand the type of music best suited to your occasion.
We would far prefer not to play than to try and play in the wrong setting!
